Black Zones are so utterly alien that they are considered to have an entrancing effect on those who look into them. Surface soil was vitrified mid-flight and formed sharp crystalline spires, and radioactive collapse storms regularly sweep the wastelands, destroying any living or electronic object. Only ELID infected and mutated plants can survive here, and they are the last areas considered for rehabilitation.
